It seemed like there were only great designs that offered no protection or protective cases with basic designs. Fast forward to the summer of 2013. I had just graduated college with plans to enroll in law school, but deep down I knew it wasn&#x2019;t a career that I was truly passionate about.&#x2028; After an exhausting 6 months of research, designing the initial products, and selling everything I had to buy inventory, velvetcaviar.com launched in February of 2014 from my bedroom in NYC, coining the phrase &#x201C;Pretty Yet Protective&#x201D; as the tagline. Within months, @velvetcaviar became a viral sensation across social media as people everywhere fell in love with our never-before-seen phone cases.
