Our founder

Since I got my first iPhone in 2010, I have been obsessed with finding the perfect case. It seemed like there were only great designs that offered no protection or protective cases with basic designs. Fast forward to the summer of 2013. I had just graduated college with plans to enroll in law school, but deep down I knew it wasn’t a career that I was truly passionate about.


After an exhausting 6 months of research, designing the initial products, and selling everything I had to buy inventory, velvetcaviar.com launched in February of 2014 from my bedroom in NYC, coining the phrase “Pretty Yet Protective” as the tagline. Within months, @velvetcaviar became a viral sensation across social media as people everywhere fell in love with our never-before-seen phone cases.

Charities and Causes?

Over the years we have supported many charities in their unique missions with a focus on Environmental and LGBT causes. In 2023, Velvet Caviar became Climate Pledge Friendly and Carbon Neutral, meaning the carbon footprint of our products has been fully offset by supporting a certified carbon offset project.
